If you talk to someone who has studied cannabis, they will tell you that cannabinoids (or phytocannabinoids, in plants) were part of the human diet for a very long time, dating back centuries. Your body even produces its own cannabinoids that are called endocannabinoids. Adding cannabis plant derivatives to your wellness plan gives your body more cannabinoids to use.
Stephanie, generally, I have patients take 20 to 150mg a day for sleep +/- anxiety. Start low and go slow. Know the dosages of your product. Usually 2/3 to 3/4 of the daily dose is 1-2 hours before bedtime, and the other portion is upon waking (to improve wakefulness during the day). Other factors such as stress, hormone replacement, other meds & medical conditions, etc. play a role along with individual differences. I own a compounding pharmacy, so we see a lot of unique needs. I can’t give more specific advice in this forum, but there is help!
Connie, I was happy to read your comment & recommendation. I have found CBD to be extremely helpful also. My main issue with it is that I have bought from 3 different companies, and now I just bought Plus CBD because it was the only brand available in my home town, and I didn’t want to wait for the mail order. Unfortunately, in my inexperience, I thought I I was buying a high potency, and now find it is LOW, and very expensive for that. However, my story sounds very similar to yours, cancer, chemo killed my veins, used Norco for years, and now my body has VERY poor muscle tone. I will continue on, though, and wanted you to know that I was very encouraged by your inspirational story. I saw my primary MD today, and she was excited about my progress & success with CBD, especially since I have discontinued 3 medications. I’m experiencing a recurrence of Stage 3 ovarian, originally diagnosed in 2011. I’ve decided to get some chemo, not sold on another 6 cycles though. I was actually wanting to know about dosage for cancer as well..My parents both have recently been diagnosed with cancer 4 months apart and are currently going thru chemo together. I have tried looking for the dosage info but can never find what i’m looking for..I want to try to help lesson the chemo side effects and hopefully kill some of the cancer cells. Can someone please help us?
Thank you. I am 81 and started the CBD drops night and morning. I sleep better and no longer suffer the excruciating pain from diverticulitis. I saw somewhere that for my asthma I need the THC so got some (totally illegal here in South Africa). I think it is helping. The diagnosis of COPD was made some years ago and as a health psychologist I do all I can to remain healthy for my 97th birthday!! (Both my grandmother and greatgrandmother did so I believe I will too).
