I recently was a guest at a medical marijuana educational event that highlighted the work of researcher Michael Backes. During his presentation he made a statement about CBD that I have never heard anywhere else that CBD is “regulating” (my word) the effects of THC. I asked the Nurse Practitioner at the event, Ivy Lou Hibbitt of Certicann.com, what he meant by that and she said it was her understanding of Michael’s comment that he takes CBD to reduce the psychoactive effects of THC. Has this property of CBD, that it can lessen psychoactive effects, ever been researched elsewhere?
Fill the dropper with the CBD oil, place the tip of the dropper under the tongue and drip in the desired amount. Let the CBD oil get adsorbed for 1-5 minutes before swallowing it. If you are having a hard time with the dosage or the number of drops when you drip it under your tongue, you can also use a spoon. Just put the desired amount of CBD oil on the spoon and try to put it under the tongue. Just lick off the remaining oil on the spoon. Due to the fine blood vessels and mucous membranes in the mouth, the CBD quickly enters the bloodstream and therefore has a good bioavailability.

I’m 87. Have lived with Trigeminal Neuralgia for 17 years. At first Tegretol helped a little but disease worsened and Tegretol damages liver. Went to legal Dronabinol(THC) with doc’s prescription. Insurance paid. CVS provided 2.5mg pill. THC Stopped pain, and no side effects.  Also have tried CBD oil with 1200mgs per ounce. 2 drops sublingual. Not a good taste but I am without pain using CBD at 1200mgs per ounce.  It also means I now have only a negligible amt of THC in my body.

I take it 6 hours before I want to go to sleep but I can’t tell if it helps me or not for sleep…but…the next morning while I’m working I tend to nod off and this is after taking anywhere from 200 to 400 mg of modafinil which is helpful if you are fatigued all the time and since I have to take things to help me sleep I also have to take things to help me stay awake… as crazy as that sounds it’s just something I have to do right now so just go with it…
I’m totally new to CBD oil but my VA Pain Mgmt doc recommended that I try an oral CBD oil regimen. I spoke with an herbalist who helped me to choose the gold version of this brand. I am a combat wounded Marine (veteran) with fibromyalgia and nerve damage from my waist down. I still have shrapnel in my body and the hardware in my legs aches with arthritic pain. I have uncontrollable high blood pressure with no heart or cholesterol issues which indicate that living in pain is the culprit of my hypertension. I have refused opioids and antidepressants for pain and I suffer greatly when the weather swings, which is quite often here in East Tennessee. I have been using this product for two weeks and take 9 drops twice a day. This stuff is a total game changer!!! The very first time I used it I felt a noticeable decrease in pain after 3 minutes. I increased the dosage over a few days, found my sweet spot and these days I feel like my life has changed! I’m pretty much devoid of pain, my blood pressure has decreased and stabilized and best of all my husband and kids think Mommy’s mood is way better! I sleep better, feel less anxious, am way less irritable and I have lost 11 pounds! I couldn’t be more pleased than I am now that I use Plus CBD Oil. I use the unflavored gold variety which doesn’t taste bad at all. If anyone would have told me how this product would change my life I would have never believed it!
My mom is late stage dementia.  We have tried coconut oil/black pepper/curcumin combo for years.  Gives only tine bit of help, and is not something that reverses dementia.  Maybe in someone who can score better than a 14 on the mme it could be of help.  But cannabinoid is a different story.  Cannabinoids produce better results in less time.  Can’t say yet that they will reverse anything though.
When it comes to using CBD, questions keep coming up, especially from people who try CBD for the first time. Since there are different CBD products and because CBD can be used in different ways, the question of how to use CBD oil is quite legitimate.  What CBD products are available, how they can be used, and the bioavailability of each product is covered in this article.
The human body also produces cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids, in a bodily system known as the endocannabinoid system (or ECS). The ECS promotes homeostasis by regulating a wide range of functions, including motor skills, mood, appetite, and sleep. As we age, our ECS produces fewer endocannabinoids; they may also decrease due to physical injury or disease. Replenishing depleted endocannabinoids with phytocannabinoids like CBD can help restore balance to the body.
Hemp oil does have a number of uses and is often marketed as a cooking oil or a product that is good for moisturizing the skin. It is also used in the production of certain soaps, shampoos, and foods. It is also a basic ingredient for bio-fuel and even a more sustainable form of plastic. Hemp has been cultivated and used for roughly 10,000 years, and it definitely has useful purposes. However, a lack of cannabinoids, namely CBD, means that it has little therapeutic value.

BioBloom Hemp believes that their range of drops, 4%, 6% and 8% extracts, are all you need. Not only if you’re getting started with CBD oil, but also if you’re looking to take a high-strength concentrate. How can you accomplish a 40% effect (the strongest available) with a 4% concentrate? You would just need to take more of it; so, instead of taking 1 drop of a 40% CBD, you take 10 drops of BioBloom’s 4% CBD drops. The CBD content is the same, but BioBloom says that this equivalence comes with an added benefit: you get more of the full-spectrum cannabinoid profile. In other words, by taking more of the oil, you take in more cannabinoids, thus enhancing the effect of the main active ingredient.
The Love Hemp CBD water range is also extremely popular, with 500ml bottles selling for just £1.99. This is CBD-infused water, to be clear, and Love Hemp claims the formulation took nine months’ worth of research from its Research and Development team. It basically tastes like mineral water, and is a great way to get your CBD intake on the move and stay hydrated at the same time.
As noted in the previous section, CBD oil prices vary significantly by brand. The best practice for most is to determine a per-milligram budget for CBD oil, as well as a maximum price for the entire bottle. For example, you might decide that 10 cents per milligram or less is a reasonable budget; and that $45 (for a 450-mg concentration, based on the budget) is a maximum bottle price. Also, if ordering online, be sure to include potential shipping costs.

Vaporizers – Many state-licensed cannabis dispensaries offer high CBD strains of cannabis flower. This allows for reduced risk of paranoia while allowing for a high medicinal dose of CBD. Vaporizers are used to heat up the flower and remove the properties or compounds of the plant that you are looking for without combustion or smoking. Vaporizers use convection much like a convection oven.

Customer Service: We’ve always received fast, informative responses to our queries about products and practices, but there are definitely customers out there who have not. A quick perusal of reviews shows customers who had issues with unaddressed orders. It’s hard to know exactly what the problem is in these situations, but the company’s strict return policy (seven days for unopened products only) probably doesn’t help. It should be noted that the company has a solid base of very satisfied customers as well.

Another field in which CBD is creating a buzz is in the area of mood disorders like anxiety and depression. Both conditions have been treated with a variety of medications, courtesy of Big Pharma, that have had varying levels of success. Again, the long list of side effects can be off-putting to someone who just wants to get through the day without the sweaty tension of anxiety or the gray haze of depression.
Although I’m no physician, and am not qualified to recommend any drugs for any specific medical purposes, and you should consult your doctor when considering the consumption of anything that may be medicinal: If you’re looking to experiment with CBD products, you might consider looking for CBD products that are “whole plant” extract based from very high CBD cultivars. If you’re in a State that has a legal Cannabis system, you may also find more therapeutic benefits from non-hemp derived CBD products.
The vast majority of CBD oils come in bottles measuring either 15 milliliters (mL), or 0.5 ounces; or 30 mL, or 1 ounce. However, CBD concentration is more important than bottle size. Concentration refers to the ratio of hemp oil solution (measured in mL) compared to the amount of CBD cannabinoid (measured in milligrams, or mg). A 15-mL bottle may contain 100 mg of CBD, 300 mg, 500 mg, or more. The higher the mg amount, the stronger the CBD oil will be. For this reason, the ‘mg’ measurement is also referred to as the oil’s strength; i.e., 400-mg oil might be called 400-strength oil.

Hemp oil tinctures come in a wide array of sizes, flavors, and strengths. Something to keep that in mind as you’re trying tinctures: if you don’t like a specific tincture, there are many options that may suit you better in terms of flavor and potency. If it is important for you not to taste the hemp oil, we suggest these tinctures as they are the best tasting we have ever tried.
Did you get an answer for this? I have the exact same scenario. I’m treating my TN with Tegretol, and recently tried CBD. I think I took too much and there are some weird drug interactions with Tegretol and I felt quite stoned….was alone and talking to myself in my head thinking I was Einstein. It freaked me out a bit but I think I took too much. I’m trying lower doses again as recently my TN seems to be resisting the meds, although I have had a lot of emotional stress, which seems to be a trigger. Thanks!! Anna
